A three-alarm fire broke out early Friday morning at the Trexler Apartments in Allentown. It happened just after 1 a.m. at an apartment, which was heavily damaged. Neighboring apartments sustained water damage. The Allentown Fire department quickly responded and had the flames knocked back in a few hours. There does not appear to be any injuries.

The Tally Ho bar on Southside Bethlehem is getting its full liquor license back. Northampton County Judge John Morganelli has reversed a July 2022 Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board order denying the renewal of the liquor license for the bar that has been open since 1933. The bar's attorney says the LCB initially took away the license for minor liquor code violations.

A staple at the Quakertown Farmers Market is closing up shop Sunday. Frederick's Meats, which has been at the market since the 1980s is leaving the market at close of business Sunday. However, company owners say Frederick's Downtown Market will open later this month near the Trolley Barn Public Market. The new business will be operated by the son of Marvin and Pat Frederick, who ran the operation at the Quakertown Farmers Market.

Friday was a St. Patrick’s Day in Lent. Bishop Alfred Schlert of the Diocese of Allentown offered a special dispensation for church members Friday: if Catholics in the diocese enjoyed their corned beef and cabbage Friday, they should not have eaten meat on Thursday or should avoid it Saturday.

Due to Verizon network maintenance, PennDOT Driver License Centers will be unable to issue driver licenses, REAL IDs, or learner permits Saturday morning. Road testing will be available as usual, but PennDOT won't be able to issue a driver license immediately after completion of the test. PennDOT says it hopes to restore business as usual after noon Saturday.
