The Philadelphia Eagles have decided to start Joe Milton at quarterback in their upcoming game against the New York Giants on Sunday (November 8). This decision comes as the Eagles aim to break a six-game losing streak, according to a report from Knox News. Milton will replace Tanner McKee, who has started the last three games but failed to secure a win.

Milton, who was signed from the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad on October 16, steps in after Jalen Hurts was sidelined for the season due to blood clots. Milton's journey to this starting role has been unconventional. He was initially drafted by the New England Patriots in 2024 and later traded to the Cowboys in 2025. Despite a strong preseason with Dallas, he was waived and then added to their practice squad before the Eagles signed him.

Milton's college career at the University of Tennessee was notable. He was the Orange Bowl MVP in 2022 and accumulated 4,159 passing yards, 32 touchdowns, and five interceptions during his time there. His arm strength has been a standout feature, famously throwing an orange roughly 100 yards during a challenge in 2022, as reported by The Inquirer.

The Eagles, currently at 2-6, hope Milton can provide the spark needed to revive their struggling offense. Sunday's game will mark Milton's first NFL start, and he will be the third quarterback to start for the Eagles this season. The Giants, leading the NFC East, will pose a significant challenge as they visit Lincoln Financial Field.
