An investigation is underway after a deadly shooting in Lehigh County on Thursday. Officers were called to the 5100 block of Third Street in Whitehall Township at around 5 p.m. We're being told the shooting victim is a 74-year-old Whitehall Township man.

A 17-year-old Allentown boy was found dead Thursday afternoon after jumping from a railroad trestle into Jordan Creek. Police were called to the 300 block of Basin Street after the boy jumped into the creek nearby and did not resurface. Police initially entered the water, but could not find the boy. His body wsa eventually found.

Lehigh County Commissioner Zachary Cole-Borghi is set to appear in court for a formal arraignment in July after waiving a prelimninary hearing on Thursday. Cole-Borghi is charged with more than 100 felonies for his alleged connection with a multi-state drug ring. He was one of 41 people arrested last August at Bethlehem City Hall, where he worked as a right-to-know officer. Cole-Borghi is accused of conducting drug transactions from November of 2023 to August of last year.

What began as an annual field trip for students at the Sag Harbor School District in New York, ended in tragedy Wednesday when a 12-year-old boy died on a rafting trip. It happened in the Lehigh River in East Penn Township when the sixth grader was thrown into the river with others in his raft. All but one emerged from the water. Cesar Guncay was eventually found and pronounced dead. James Berros is a former river guide in that area. "I have three boys. Your heart sinks. You don't like it. You want to know what's going on. You want to know that they're safe. You want to know that the safety crew did their job correctly," Berros said. The Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission is investigating the incident.

The U.S. Army is planning to return more remains of Native American students who died at the Carlisle Indian Industrial School. The Office of Army Cemeteries announced Thursday that it will exhume the remains of twelve additional native children from the Carlisle Barracks, where the school was formerly located. It comes after 19 graves were removed and returned to their tribes last year. At least 168 students died at the school while it operated between 1879-and-1918.

Protestors continue to clash with ICE at Newark's Delaney Hall, as Governor Sherrill says Health Officials were partially blocked from entering the facility. The Governor says Delaney Hall should be shut down as protests continued throughout the day Thursday in Newark. Sherrill says the New Jersey Department of Health attempted to conduct a health inspection at the facility but was only allowed to a limited part of the property. She says they plan on releasing more information on what the department was allowed to see. It comes after some detainees reportedly began a hunger strike over the conditions last week. Protests have become heated in recent days, with ICE using force in some cases.
