Primary Election Day has arrived. In the 187th District, Democrats Rachel Cuevas and Gregory Whitcomb are running to see who'll challenge incumbent Republican Gary Day in November and in the 16th Senate District, Republican Jarrett Coleman is running unopposed, but two Democrats, Bradley Merkl Gump and Mark Pinsley are running for the chance to challenge him this fall.

The money will keep the club open through the summer, but unless more money can be raised, it may close as soon as this fall. The club is open 3:30-8 p.m. each school day, and offers a basketball league, homework help, and arts and craft programs to the 50-60 kids who attend daily.

He said the reopening of the facility, known as the site of the worst commercial nuclear accident in U.S. history, is "emblematic of the rebirth of nuclear power." The reactor could reopen as soon as June 2027.
