The average price for a gallon of gas is six cents lower in Pennsylvania this week at $4.09, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report. $4.09 is 74 cents more expensive than last year on the same date. The Lehigh Valley's average price for a gallon of gas is $3.96, down 12 cents from the previous week, but 78 cents more expensive than the 2025 price.

An Allentown man accused of fatally shooting another man during a game of “quick draw” in November in a Catasauqua home surrendered to police Monday. 25-year-old Samuel Rolando Colon is charged with killing 19-year-old Ti'Shaun Singleton at a home on Edward Lane last November. He was sent to Lehigh County Jail without bail.

Police are investigating after a a pedestrian was badly injured after being struck by a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado just after 4:30 Monday afternoon in Washington Township. The accident happened on Route 873 between Phillips and Glencrest roads. The victim was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest with serious injuries.

The Bethlehem Historic Conservation Commission on Monday approved the demolition of several structures to make way for a seven-story mixed-use building on South New Street. The buildings from 319-to-327 South New Street will be knocked down to make way for the New Street Apartments, which will also include commercial space, community space, 31 one-bedrom apartments and a dozen two-bedroom units.

President Trump announced that he is hoping a deal between the US and Iran is happening very soon after the recent ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon. Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman says besides what every Democrat leader has said about operation Epic Fury, he still supports it. "I'll never understand why my party just can't see that there's been a lot of good developments in this thing. To pulverize the Iranian military? Every single Democrat has said we can never allow Iran to acquire a nuclear bomb and how they've been the evil regime," Fetterman says. Vice President JD Vance is prepared to lead a delegation to Pakistan today for potential peace talks with Iran.

The DEA is partnering with participating local health organizations and law enforcement agencies for this Saturday's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The event is an opportunity for Pennsylvania residents and others to safely drop off and dispose of expired and unneeded prescription medications. The executive director of the Pennsylvania Human Rights Commission is stepping down amid a state investigation. Chad Dion Lassiter announced he will resign effective June 30 as the Shapiro administration reviews how the agency has been spending taxpayer dollars. State officials say the probe includes a review of agency purchases and some procurement methods have been suspended. Lassiter's departure comes during a broader shakeup at the agency.

The Cape May County Park and Zoo has a growing family of capybaras, after announcing Monday that a mother gave birth to her second litter within six months. Zoo staff say their adult capybara named Buttercup gave birth to two pups last Tuesday, and all are doing well. The pups join a growing family of the world's largest rodents at the zoo, which now has four adults including Buttercup, five older pups and now the two babies. Both litters were sired by the resident male capybara, whom zoo staffers named Goomba.

The Flyers are up 2-0 in their series against Pittsburgh after shutting out the Penguins 3-0 in game two Monday night. Head coach Rick Tocchet says despite winning two on the road, nothing is decided yet. "Coming in here and winning two games is a tough thing to do. They're not dead and we have to act like they're not dead. We're not coming out of here on our high horse. We're happy, but we're going to have to adjust a few things," Tocchet says. Games three and four are in Philadelphia.
