Pennsylvania's gas prices have leveled off. According to the AAA East Central Gas Price Report, the average price for a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania was $4.15 as of Monday, equal to one week earlier, but 80 cents more expensive than the same date in 2025. In the Lehigh Valley, the average price sits at $4.08 a gallon, three cents less than the previous wee and 89 cents more than one year ago.

An investigation continues days after a West Chester University student from the Lehigh Valley became the victim of a pedestrian crash. It happened early Sunday morning along South High Street. The victim is identified as Garrett Nicholas, a 2023 Parkland High School graduate. The accident remains under investigation.

A man is in critical condition after being struck by a Fleetwood police car. Police say a 45-year-old man was leaving an establishment on West Main Street just after midnight Monday morning when he stepped into the street. At that point, a patrol vehicle hit the man on the passenger side. The man was reportedly conscious and speaking when first responders arrived on scene. Anyone who witnessed the accident or who has video footage is asked to called Northern Berks PD at 610-926-2999.

Officials say a brush fire on Blue Mountain is mostly contained. The blaze has burned almost 90 acres since it started near the top of a mountain on Sunday, with crews facing difficulties navigating the tough terrain. One firefighter at the scene reportedly suffered an ankle injury. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

A man is facing charges following a shooting in Allentown on Monday. Raymond Manuel Cruz is accused of firing gunshots at a vehicle on the 400 block of Washington Street in the afternoon. No injuries were reported. Police say the investigation is ongoing.

Accu-Weather's Joe Lundberg says summer is coming two months early. "We're talking mid-to-upper 80s today, tomorrow and Thursday. Could someone around area reach the 90s? Sure," Lundberg says. The best chance for a record setting high is tomorrow, with the expected high temperature of 88. Tomorrow's record high is 86, set back in 1994.

Tax deadline day is tomorrow, however for some it's not until October 15th. The IRS' Stacy Engle says that six month extension is available to everybody, but keep in mind paying anything you owe is not. "You can file for an automatic extension through most filing software or you can do it on your IRS online account. But, remember when you request an extension of time to file, it's only an extension to file. If you have to pay, your payment is due by April 15th," Engle says. She says you can usually get a pretty good idea of how much you owe based on previous years' returns, but she cautions that if you 'under' estimate that number you are liable for late payment penalties on the difference.

A new law now in effect gives some 17-year-olds the right to vote in primaries around the state, if their 18th birthdays fall before the general election. This means any teen falling in that category will be able to cast ballots in the June second primaries. The deadline to register to vote in the primaries in May 12th, regardless of age.

Data show Toms River residents have the greatest number of concealed carry permits for firearms in New Jersey. Press of Atlantic City reports the state issued more gun permits last year than in 2019 through 2023 combined. Toms River police report they process an average of more than one application for a permit every day. The number of concealed carry permits issued in the state has increased nearly tenfold in the three years since a US Supreme Court decision dismantled the state's previously strict regulations.

A bill proposed in Trenton calls for setting up a database of all undocumented immigrants charged or convicted of a crime in New Jersey. Republican State Senator Joe Pennacchio sponsored the bill in the democratic-controlled legislature called "The Right To Know" bill He tells the Jersey Vindicator his proposal is the opposite of Governor Sherrill's new portal set up for residents to report ICE agents. The measure has been senate to the Senate Law and Public Safety Committee.

The Philadelphia Flyers are in the playoffs for the first time since 2020. They wrapped up a spot in dramatic fashion, coming from two goals down to win 3-2 in a shootout over Carolina. After the game, head coach Rick Tocchet addressed his team in the locker room. "Right from training camp, you guys believed. Nobody else believed but yourself. You guys deserved this and we're not done yet. You're not done yet," Tocchet said. The Flyers will play Pittsburgh in round one of the playoffs.
