Governor Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania has ordered all United States and Commonwealth flags at state facilities to be flown at half-staff in honor of three police officers who were killed in the line of duty. The tragic incident occurred during a shooting in North Codorus Township, York County. The flags will remain lowered until the officers' burial dates, which have not yet been announced.
This decision follows the United States Flag Code, which allows for flags to be lowered in tribute to fallen public servants. Governor Shapiro invites all Pennsylvanians to join in this tribute by lowering their own flags.
