Princess Diana's iconic Philadelphia Eagles letterman jacket is once again available for purchase, but only in limited quantities. The jacket, made famous by the late royal when she wore it on the cover of People magazine in June 1994, is being sold by sports apparel brand Mitchell & Ness. This Kelly green varsity jacket, which retails for $400, is available online and in the Mitchell & Ness flagship store in Philadelphia. Sizes range from extra small to 5XL.
The jacket's popularity has remained high since its first rerelease in 2023, with each release selling out quickly. A second rerelease in December 2024 saw similar demand. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the jacket is crafted with an oversized, vintage fit and features embroidered graphics, a rib-knit elastic collar, cuffs, and waistband, and a full snap design.
Princess Diana's original jacket was a custom piece gifted by the Eagles after she met former team statistician Jack Edelstein at Grace Kelly's funeral. Although she did not follow American football, Diana admired the team's colors, leading to the creation of the one-of-a-kind jacket. She was often photographed wearing it, including during a family outing in 1994, which led to its iconic status.
According to PhillyVoice, the jacket's recent rerelease has already sparked significant interest, echoing the excitement of previous sales. In one notable instance, a jacket signed by Kylie Kelce was auctioned for $100,000, with proceeds benefiting the Eagles Autism Foundation.
For fans eager to capture a piece of royal history, the jacket is available at Mitchell & Ness and Fanatics, though its availability is uncertain due to high demand.
