Here's what's trending for September 8.

The City of Allentown has placed its first public health vending machine in the city. It's located at the Lehigh Conference of Churches at 457 West Allen Street. The vending machine offers everything from the overdose reversal medication Naloxone, to feminine hygiene products, to first-aid supplies, to educational materials. Funding for the vending machine comes from the state's opioid settlement funds.

Authorities are investigating a crash in Northampton County Sunday evening. Police say multiple vehicles collided near the intersection of Route 145 and Willow Road in Lehigh Township shortly before 6:30 p.m. At least two people were taken to the hospital, but their conditions remain unknown.

The markets are betting on more federal interest rate cuts after a weak jobs market report released last Friday. Republican Sen. Dave McCormick of Pennsylvania weighs in. "The Fed was slow in raising rates during the Biden administration, which is a part of the reason we had the out-of-control inflation that hurt so many working families in Pennsylvania and it's been too slow to lower the rates," McCormick says.

A former state official is now the head of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party. Pennsylvania Dems elected Eugene DePasquale as party chair this past weekend. DePasquale served two terms as State Auditor General from 2013-to-2021 and was previously a member of the State House of Representatives out of York County. He said Pennsylvania Democrats have a "lot of work and opportunity ahead" after losing several statewide races to Republicans in last year's election.

The death of a shark that washed up on the beach at Wildwood Crest Saturday morning is under investigation. The shark has been removed for examination. Witnesses say red flag warnings had been posted for extremely rough waves this weekend.
