However, he says, "What I've seen over the first 70 days of his administration is chaos that has resulted in higher prices, fewer rights and more worry." Shapiro calls the tariffs "reckless" and "dangerous." He made his comments at the Bethlehem Brew Works. The governor says that business is one of many which will be hurt by tariffs slapped on Canada.

A late Tuesday night fire has badly damaged a garage and forced he people living inside an adjacent house to find a new place to stay. It happened in the 800 block of Bangor Road in Plainfield Township. There's no indication what started the fire. No injuries are reported.

No injuries are reported after a Wednesday morning fire in Carbon County. Firefighters were called to a home in the 500 block of Center Avenue in Jim Thorpe just before 9:30 Wednesday morning. There's no word on what sparked the fire.

Authorities are releasing the name of man who lost his life Tuesday in a Polk Township fire. The fire broke out at around 11:30 a.m. at a residence on Mountain Road. Seventy-one-year-old Robert Werner was pronounced dead at the scene. There has been no word on how the fire started.

The City of Allentown is launching a new initiative to eliminate traffic deaths and injuries. The Safe Streets for All Action Plan aims to re-design ten corridors in the city to better accommodate pedestrians. The plan includes better lighting at crosswalks, curb extensions, and measures to reduce speed. Mayor Matt Tuerk said Safe Streets for All will bring "real changes" to the city along with better enforcement and a strong commitment to protecting lives.

Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity was in Schuylkill County Wednesday to return a very important piece of unclaimed property. "It is truly me immense privilege and honor to return this World War I Gold Star Mother and Widow's Pilgrimage Medal to the Morrison family," Garrity said. The medal was given to the family of Joe Morrison more than 100 years ago, after he was killed at the tail end of World War I in France. It had been in a bank deposit box for many years before ending up as unclaimed property in the state's treasury vault. Garrity, who is a veteran herself, has returned 477 military decorations, however 480 remain in the treasury's vault. She hopes to find the appropriate home for all of them.

Most Pennsylvanians still haven't gotten a Real ID. That's according to Penn-DOT Secretary Mike Carroll, who says the new ID card is only possessed by 26-percent of Pennsylvania residents ahead of next month's deadline. Starting on May Seventh, only Real IDs, passports, and military IDs will be accepted at U.S. airports. Carroll says for anyone that waits until the last minute to do something, "it's the last minute."

A star player on the 76ers is going under the knife again. ESPN reported on Wednesday that Joel Embiid will have surgery on his left knee next week. It's the second time in just over a year that a procedure needs to get done on the knee. The center was ruled "medically unable to play" in February and has appeared in just 58 games going back to last season.

Eagles legend Jason Kelce and his wife Kylie have welcomed another baby. The Kelce family now has four girls after baby Finnley was born March 30th. Their other daughters are ages 2, 4 and 5.
