Five people are injured after a plane crashed into a parking lot of a retirement community in Lancaster County Sunday. Manheim Township Fire Chief Duane Fisher says it could have been a lot worse. "The fact that we have a plane crash and everybody survived and nobody on the ground is hurt is a wonderful thing," Fisher said. The plane crashed shortly after taking off from Lancaster Airport. The pilot could be heard telling air traffic control they needed to return because a door was open. They were cleared to land, but just after that, air traffic control could be heard telling the pilot to pull up. The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the crash.

Officials have once again elevated the risk for wildfires in New Jersey to high as humidity levels have dropped recently. They say the continued drought combined with high winds make for ideal conditions for fires to start and then spread rapidly. A brushfire that broke out near Newark Friday night took firefighters several hours to contain.
