An 18-year-old student from Mooresville, Indiana, Trinity Shockley, has been arrested for allegedly plotting a mass shooting at Mooresville High School on Valentine's Day. Authorities received a tip from the FBI's Sandy Hook Tip Line on February 11, leading to Shockley's arrest. She faces charges of conspiracy to commit murder and intimidation.

According to court documents, Shockley, who identifies as a transgender male and goes by the name Jamie, had been planning the attack for over a year. She allegedly admired Nikolas Cruz, the Parkland shooter, and expressed a desire to emulate his actions. Police found evidence, including messages on Discord, where Shockley discussed her plans and expressed admiration for other mass shooters.

During the investigation, authorities discovered weapons, ammunition, and a bulletproof vest at Shockley's home. They also found notebooks containing disturbing writings and collages of mass murderers. Shockley reportedly had an emotional attachment to Cruz and expressed homicidal thoughts.

Shockley had sought mental health resources from her school, but her father reportedly denied her access. She is currently being held without bond in Morgan County Jail. The Mooresville School District has expressed gratitude for the cooperation of law enforcement in handling the situation.
