Accu-Weather's Joe Lundberg says you should be prepared for some Saturday snow. "It looks like it starts probably after 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon," Lundberg says. Lundberg thinks it'll begin snowing around 4 tomorrow afternoon and eventually change over to some sleet and freezing rain before wrapping up Saturday night into Sunday morning. Total accumulation is in the one-to-three inch range. More snow is possible Tuesday and then again Wednesday night into Thursday and perhaps more next weekend.

County Council members in Northampton County have made up their minds about a big project there. In a 7-2 vote, Northampton County Council has approved a $35 million bond ordinance to help pay for replacing the county government center parking deck in Easton. County Executive Lamont McClure is pleased, saying, "This is a significant step forward for our community's safety and infrastructure.” The vote comes three months after a $63.5 million bond proposal that also included a new county office building was rejected.

Northampton County officials are identifying the person killed in an explosion at an apartment in Easton earlier this week. Authorities said 26-year-old Timothy Zeh died after an explosion at his apartment on the 700 block of West Milton Street on Monday. Officers are looking to see if Zeh may have been making or manipulating an explosive device at the time of the blast. The investigation is ongoing.

Big changes are coming to a spring tradition in the Lehigh Valley. The cancer charity event Boutique at the Rink is changing its name, its location and its date. The event will now be called Boutique for Hope and will be held June 11-14 at the St. Luke's Sportsplex on Crackersport Road in South Whitehall Township. The event had been held for many years at the Bethlehem Municipal Ice Rink in the days following Memorial Day. Organizers say the new name "truly encapsulates the support the event provides for all cancer patients "and the change of location offers more indoor space that is air-conditioned and weather protected. The event resells donated items with proceeds benefiting local cancer charities. The 2024 event raised more than $350,000.

Governor Josh Shapiro signed a bill yesterday meant to help stop the spread of bird flu in Pennsylvania. House Bill 324 allows residents to become certified poultry technicians after completing a state training course. The governor's office says the bill will help more farm workers become certified and learn how to keep bird flu from spreading to other flocks. Shapiro said the commonwealth's proactive approach to the outbreak has helped it avoid the worst so far.

Pheasant-hunting season continues in the Poconos and the rest of the commonwealth. The Pennsylvania Game Commission reports that they will be releasing approximately 84-hundred pheasants on the state's hunting grounds in the coming days in preparation for the season's final weeks. Pheasant-hunting season in Pennsylvania runs through February 28th.

Whitehall High graduate Saquon Barkley has been named the NFL Offensive Player of the Year. After the announcement, Barkley had plenty of people to thank. "I'd like to thank the fans of Philadelphia for showing so much love for me and my family, especially with me being a newcomer. Last but not least, I'd like to thank my teammates and my coaches. You can't be great without the greatness of others is one of my favorite quotes and definitely can't accomplish this without the big boys up front. So, thank you guys so much," Barkley said. Barkley led the NFL and set an Eagles franchise record with 2005 rushing yards this season. Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson finished second in the voting. Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen was voted NFL MVP.

Wawa is getting revved up for the Super Bowl. Wawa customers can get a free hot coffee of any size on Super Bowl Sunday until kickoff time at 6:30 p.m. In a news release the company said, "As a company with roots in the Philadelphia area, Wawa is thrilled to take part in the excitement of its hometown team playing to bring a championship to the City of Brotherly Love."

The Mayor of Philadelphia is urging Eagles fans to control themselves after Sunday night's Super Bowl. "Be respectful of our fellow Eagles fans. No fighting please. No pushing and shoving. People can fall and hurt themselves," Mayor Charelle Parker says. After a college student died in a fall from a pole in the hours after the Eagles' NFC Championship Game victory and Parker is pleading with fans to not climb anything win or lose Sunday night.

PennDOT and the Pennsylvania DUI Association are reminding folks to stay safe this Super Bowl weekend. The agencies are urging people to avoid driving drunk after enjoying the big game with friends or at a bar on Sunday. Super Bowl party hosts are encouraged to have non-alcoholic beverage options available for guests who choose to be designated drivers.

The Jersey Shore may not be lacking for an air show this summer after all. After Atlantic City cancelled its annual air show the past two years, officials in Wildwood are working to create their own air show this summer. They say it would be held September 5th and 6th. The city is currently working with an events company that has been organizing air shows for more than thirty years. They hope to make an announcement this month.
