Lafayette College's president is facing a no-confidence vote this week. The vote regarding college President Nicole Hurd will take place tomorrow according to Lafayette's student newspaper. Ten members of Lafayette's faculty have signed the no-confidence motion, claiming Hurd has devoted time and money toward athletics rather than academics and excluded the faculty from decision making. Tomorrow's vote would be a mainly symbolic message of the faculty's loss of faith in Hurd's leadership. Hurd has been Lafayette's president for the past three-and-a-half years.

The proposal comes as school districts across the commonwealth struggle to find consistent staffing for positions like bus driver and instructional aide. Powell's bill has been filed with the Pennsylvania House Labor and Industry Committee.
