Multiple Students Shot At A High School In Nashville

A shooting at Antioch High School in Tennessee on Wednesday (January 22) left one student dead and two others injured. The incident occurred around 11 a.m. in the school's cafeteria, where a student shot two other students before turning the gun on themselves.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the situation is contained, and the shooter is no longer a threat. Metro Nashville Police spokesman Don Aaron said that a 17-year-old male student fired several shots with a pistol, striking two students. He then fatally shot himself. A female student was killed, while another suffered a graze injury. She is in stable condition. A male student suffered a facial injury but was not hit by gunfire.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.

Metro Nashville Public Schools released a statement acknowledging the shooting and said they are working with law enforcement to provide further updates.

Investigators are continuing to work the scene as they try to determine a motive for the shooting.
