Here's what's trending for October 31.

Allentown Mayor Matt Tuerk says video of him and a member of Donald Trump's campaign staff is being widely misinterpreted. In the video, Tuerk and the staffer are seen disagreeing about road closures and barricades being put up ahead of Trump's Tuesday night visit to PPL Center. Tuerk says claims he was trying to shut down the rally are completely untrue. The mayor says what he 'was' trying to do was to make sure the event went as peacefully and as safely as possible and looking back on Tuesday night, Tuerk says that's exactly what happened.

Northampton County Executive Lamont McClure says a viral video calling into question a man delivering a mail bin full of mail-in ballots is much ado about nothing. "The postal employee was doing the most normal, natural, legal thing we would expect in an election, which is the postal service delivering ballots," McClure said. The video was released by a man working for Early Vote Action in Northampton County. McClure is calling on that man to pull the video down in order to prevent misinformation from spreading more than it already has. The video has more than seven million views.

Tuesday, former President Donald Trump campaigned in Allentown. Wednesday, Vice President Kamala Harris campaigned in Harrisburg and told supporters it is time to push Trump out of the picture. "We have an opportunity in this election to turn the page on a decade of Donald Trump trying to keep us divided and afraid of each other," Harris said. Harris campaigned at the Giant Expo Hall at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex. Trump returns to Pennsylvania Monday, with a campaign stop planned in Reading.

Two-thirds of Pennsylvania's mail-in ballots are now back at local election offices. The Secretary of State said, as of Tuesday, nearly one-and-a-half million ballots had been returned. Democrats hold a nearly 400-thousand vote lead with those early, mail-in ballots. There are about nine-million registered voters in Pennsylvania.

Election managers in Monroe County say the 30 fraudulent voter registration forms that were dropped-off last week immediately sent-up red flags. County director of elections Sara May Silfee yesterday said some of the people included in the bulk-registration-drop had already canceled their voter registration, and some of them were dead. She said they immediately noticed something was off because the registrations dated back to June. The head of the county election board says that election managers flagged the suspect registrations shows that the system worked. Prosecutors in Monroe County are treating the case as a fraud investigation against the third party group that turned-in the registration forms.

Governor Josh Shapiro is responding to former President Donald Trump's claims that Pennsylvania is cheating in the election. In a social media post, Shapiro said election clerks on both sides of the aisle are doing their jobs right. It comes after Trump said that cheating is taking place in Pennsylvania "at large scale levels". Shapiro vowed to have a fair, safe and secure election.

What had been an eyesore in Bethlehem is far from that now. Wednesday, there was a ribbon cutting for 205 new apartments at the site of the old Boyd Theatre on West Broad Street. The new apartment complex includes a mix of studio apartments to two-bedroom apartments, a swimming pool, a fitness center, garage parking and even a small movie theatre in tribute to the old Boyd. Monocacy Builders and DLP Capital resurrected the property, which had been vacant since 2015 when two adjacent stores were condemned.

The Express-Times will move to an all-digital edition beginning in February 2025, ending print publication of the newspaper. An online newspaper edition will continue to be produced seven days a week for subscribers. The decision was made by Advance Local, the Express-Times’ owner, due to rising costs, decreasing circulation and reduced demand for print. Advance Local also says they will be ending print publication of its daily New Jersey newspapers, the Times of Trenton, the South Jersey Times and the weekly Hunterdon County Democrat. The final print editions of the Express-Times will be published on Feb. 2, 2025.

This is your yearly reminder to hit the deer. The Pennsylvania Game Commission this week issued its annual warning about deer on the move. The Game Commission says it's mating season, and that means deer will be moving at dusk and dawn. Insurance companies say it's never good to hit a deer, but they say often times hitting a deer is safer than swerving. Trying to swerve around a deer could cause an even worse crash. The Game Commission says drivers will need to be aware of their surroundings for at least another month.
