A new Morning Call/Muhlenberg College poll shows the Donald Trump/Kamala Harris race is a dead heat in Pennsylvania. The poll of 450 likely voters reveals both candidates are pulling 48 percent support. In Pennsylvania's Senate race, incumbent Democrat Bob Casey holds a 48-43 lead on Republican challenger Dave McCormick. That falls within the poll's margin of error. Polling was done September 16-19.
Two puppies were found in a dumpster behind the Wendy's on Wood Avenue in Wilson Borough on Tuesday, according to police. Wilson Borough Police said they were found when someone nearby heard a noise. Police said the puppies appeared to be suffering from some type of neurological issue and were rushed to a local veterinarian. Police say they tested positive for narcotics and/or other toxins.
A new report on the July 13th attempted assassination of Donald Trump details serious operational failures by the Secret Service. The 94-page Senate report released yesterday finds that a number of failures in security, planning and communication directly contributed to the assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania rally. The report specifically cited a lack of chain of command, poor coordination with local law enforcement and inadequate resources. Trump is expected to revisit the site of the attempt on his life in a rally scheduled for October 5th.
Donald Trump's presidential campaign has confirmed details of his coming return to Butler County. Trump was the victim of an assassination attempt during a July campaign rally at the Butler Farm Show grounds. Trump was shot in the ear while one event attendee was killed and two others were left wounded. The former president has scheduled an October 5th event, again, at the Butler Farm Show grounds.
Kamala Harris put forward her economic priorities Wednesday in a speech given on the Oakland campus of Carnegie Mellon University. The vice president says she plans to prioritize the growth of wealth for middle class Americans and to lift small businesses.
Voters in Pennsylvania have less than a month to make sure they are registered. The deadline to get registered in Pennsylvania is October 21st. Secretary of the Commonwealth Al Schmidt says you can register online, through the mail, or in-person at any local election office. Only U.S. citizens can vote in Pennsylvania, and you'll need to show that you are both a Pennsylvania resident and that you've lived at your address for at least 30 days in order to register. Election Day is November 5th.
City officials have released new information surrounding a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers to build their next arena in Center City. It would cost $1.3 billion but the team would be financing the project. Officials said no funding will come from the city. Mayor Parker plans to hold multiple town halls to provide more information before the city council is expected to vote on the plan next month. If approved, the arena would be built along Market Street near the Convention Center.
