The Lehigh Valley will be under a heat advisory today while temperatures reach the mid-90s. The National Weather Service said the region will be under a heat advisory from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today. A high of 94 with Accu-Weather RealFeel temperatures approaching 100 are expected this afternoon.

A Norristown woman is dead following a crash in Northampton County yesterday. Police say a driver lost control of their vehicle while speeding in Lower Nazareth Township, traveled into oncoming traffic, and hit another vehicle head-on. The driver of the other vehicle, 67-year-old Susan Henderson, was taken to the hospital where she later died. The crash is being investigated.

The victim of a wrong-way crash on Route 33 last weekend has been identified. Louisa Gonzalez-Hayes, of Hamilton Township, was killed in the crash that happened around 6:30 Saturday night on Route 33 between the Route 209 and I-80 exits. Gonzalez-Hayes was driving south on the northbound side of the highway when she collided with an oncoming SUV. People in the SUV were taken to the hospital. There's no word on their conditions.

Authorities say a New Jersey man drowned at the Delaware Water Gap earlier this week. There's no name yet, but the National Park Service says the 39-year-old man was from Lakewood, New Jersey. Rangers say they found his body about 20 to 30 feet from the shore, in about seven feet of water. Rangers say this is the second time this summer that someone has drowned at the Water Gap.

The annual Great Allentown Fair opens at 4 o'clock this afternoon. In addition to traditional favorites, there are new features this year including a daily free strongman show, and a show including a dog, camel, and pig, with a new scrapple-eating contest also on this year's schedule.

The Poconos Visitors Bureau is offering locals a chance to be de facto tour guides with the launch of the Poconos Ambassador program. The idea is to offer free classes for locals so they can better get to know the entire area, and then be better hosts for the millions of people who flock to the Poconos every year. Visitors Bureau President Chris Barrett says nearly 30-million people come to the Poconos each year, and he says having locals who can help point the way is a good thing. According to AAA East Central, gas prices are continuing to head lower. Across Pennsylvania, the average price for a gallon of gas as of Tuesday was $3.51, down more than four cents from the previous week and 37 cents lower than last August 27th. In the Lehigh Valley, the price was $3.39 on Tuesday, down three cents from the previous week and 39 cents lower than last August 27th.

A bipartisan House task force visited the site of the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. Republican Pennsylvania Congressman Mike Kelly says he and his colleagues still have a lot of questions regarding what happened last month, and they are working to bring the truth to the American people. "Every member of this task force doesn't identify ourselves as Republicans or Democrats. We identify ourselves as 13 Americans who are going to give the answers to the American people, give it to them straight, give it to them honest. I don't care how hard it is to listen to. We've got to understand that we can never allow this to happen again," Kelly said.

Joe Biden will return to Pittsburgh on Monday to campaign with Vice President Kamala Harris. The current president and the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee will be making their first joint campaign appearance since last week's Democratic National Convention. Details of the Biden-Harris event have not yet been announced.

Make it three $10 million-plus donations for the renovation project at Beaver Stadium. Penn State says another $10 million donation has been received from an anonymous donor. That mirrors a previous $10 million anonymous donation in addition to a $25 million donation from the Misitano family and PAM Health. Back in May, Penn State's Board of Trustees approved spending $700 million for what the university is calling the Beaver Stadium Revitalization project.

The Pennsylvania State Police is hanging out the help wanted sign again. A new application cycle has begun and continues until November 27th. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, be a Pennsylvania resident, be at least 20 years old and no older than 40. Hersheypark is looking to break a record with its newest ride. The park has announced Twizzlers Twisted Gravity, which it says will provide ultimate thrills and never-before-seen views. Once completed, the ride will be the world's tallest Screaming Swing. Twizzlers Twisted Gravity is set to debut next summer.

A funeral service for the late Congressman Bill Pascrell Junior is scheduled today at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Paterson. Pascrell died last week at the age of 87 after serving nearly three decades in the U.S. House. One potential candidate for his seat in Congress has dropped out. Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter exited her campaign before tomorrow's Democratic convention to name a successor to Pascrell. Sumter says there isn't enough time to effectively mount a campaign. Her decision follows a weekend vote by Democratic leaders in three counties in the Ninth District to throw their support behind State Senator Nellie Pou.
