Owners of Hyundai and Kia vehicles are invited to pick up free anti-theft devices this afternoon. The Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office is giving away steering wheel locks to owners of Hyundai and Kia vehicles today from 1 to 4 at the AAA East Central office on Downyflake Lane in Allentown. Those makes of cars have been stolen at a high rate in recent years ever since a social media video showed how easy it is to start those cars without a key.

A North Whitehall Township animal rescue and the township have worked out their differences. Foxy's Cradle will still be designated as a home business rather than an animal rescue. That means Kandice Reinert, who operated Foxy's Cradle out of her house, can use her home as an office, but cannot have any cats inside, either for the rescue or as personal pets. Foxy's Cradle will now serve as a network of foster homes for the cats. Last year, the North Whitehall Township Zoning Hearing Board originally ruled against Foxy’s Cradle newborn kitten nursery, saying it violated zoning ordinances.

A Weisenberg Township home has been badly damaged after an early Tuesday morning fire. "I arrived on scene and saw smoke coming from the rear of the building, shortly followed by flames. We are investigating the area of origin, but most of the fire was on the second and third floors," said Justin Oswald, who is a Weisenberg assistant fire chief. He says the home's attic suffered the worst of the fire damage, but the entire home had smoke and water damage. The cause of the fire is still being determined. Everybody inside was able to escape unharmed.

A 12-year-old Chester County girl has died and her father and his girlfriend are now facing charges. Chris deBarrena-Sarobe is the Chester County DA and says video from inside the home shows the abuse Malinda Hoagland was subjected to. "Video shows that they would punish her by demanding strenuous physical exercise like squats and running in place while she was still shackled," deBarrena Sarobe says. deBarrena-Sarobe says Rendell Hoagland and Cindy Warren subjected the girl "to evil and torment that no child should ever have to endure." They currently face attempted murder and related charges, but the DA says those charges could be upgraded to murder pending further investigation. Hoagland and Warren lived in Monroe County as recently as 2022. It's not Warren's first brush with the law. In 2009, Warren was sentenced to three to seven years in state prison for the assault of her three-year-old son and avoided being charged with murder in the death of her two-and-a-half year old stepdaughter because she agreed to cooperate with investigators against her then-husband.

Game three of the Phantoms-Bears playoff series is tonight at PPL Center. Hershey won both games at Giant Center and will wrap up the series if they win tonight. Phantoms captain Garrett Wilson says for the Phantoms to prevent that, they need a quick start. "You never want to be chasing games. They scored pretty early in both games, so we've been chasing right away. We've gotta find a way to get the first one and get the momentum going our way," Wilson says. Tonight's pregame begins at 6:30 on 1470AM and on the iHeartRadio app.
