A man is dead after an overnight crash in Allentown. Police say a man was driving north on Lehigh Street at a high rate of speed around 1 this morning when he lost control of his car, left the road and slammed into several parked cars of a car dealership. The driver, who has not yet been identified, died at the hospital.

American flags have been stolen from several Macungie properties in recent days and this Macungie resident is not happy about it. "The American flag is something worthy of respect. It's terrible," he said. Macungie police have released doorbell camera video showing three people stealing the flags and are asking for the public's help in finding the people responsible.

Parking tickets in Allentown could be getting substantially more costly. Allentown City Council will vote tomorrow night on a proposal that would hike most parking ticket penalties from around $15 to between $35 and $50. As it stands now, most parking ticket penalties are $15, increasing to $25 after 10 days and then $70. The proposal to be voted on would increase those penalties to between $35 and $50 for violations, up to $65 after 10 days and up to $90 when a citation is issued.

An elderly Schuylkill County man has died two weeks after being caught in a house fire. 77-year-old Mario Ramirez died Sunday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest from burns over a third of his body. He suffered those injuries on April 14th during a fire at a home on North Second Street in Minersville. Six homes were damaged and about 20 people were displaced.

A Lehigh Valley state representative plans to introduce a pair of bills to help local journalism. Today's Morning Call reports that Josh Siegel wants to give a tax credit to Pennsylvanians who subscribe or donate to a local newspaper. His second proposal would give tax credits to companies that donate to Pennsylvania's PBS' stations.

Almost $5000 worth of gasoline was stolen from a Carbon County truck stop last Wednesday. State Police say 1200 gallons of diesel fuel was stolen at the Onvo Travel Plaza in White Haven between 2:06am and 2:33am when a white box truck with the words "metro EAZY EXPRESS" written on the front parked at the pump and a driver began tampering with it. At that point, the box truck leaves and a white utility-style pick-up truck immediately pulls in and begins fueling from two pumps before leaving the property. State police say there are four possible males involved.

If you have outdoor plans late this afternoon or early this evening, Accu-Weather's Joe Lundberg says you'll need to pay attention to the sky. "We'll see enough sunshine to get up into the upper 70s and low 80s today and because of the warm air today, any storm that does occur could produce some hail and gusty winds," Lundberg says. The best chance for those storms is late afternoon into the early evening with just a chance of a shower later on tonight.

A new study says Pennsylvania is the third best state to start a new business. Analysts compared the number of businesses in each state against the number of businesses that have closed. Their study says Pennsylvania is one of the best. The state also gets high marks for financial assistance to start-up companies, like the Business Opportunities Fund and the High Performance Building Program.

Governor Phil Murphy is announcing several new solar projects that he says will help New Jersey achieve its goal of reducing emissions by 80-percent by 2050. "Right now, we're standing on a site that was once a landfill. A location that in many ways reflects the carelessness with which previous generations have treated our planet," Murphy said. Murphy also announced $156 million in EPA funding to bring solar energy into 22,000 low-income households.
