Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is required to take a paternity tests after his appeal was denied in a legal dispute with a 27-year-old woman claiming to be his daughter.
Dallas County Judge Sandra Jackson upheld a court decision in relation to Alexandra Davis' lawsuit filed in 2022 in which she claims she was conceived when her mother, Cynthia, had a relationship with Jones in the mid-1990s. Cynthia, who was married at the time of her daughter's birth, had reportedly reached a settlement with Jones in which the Cowboys owner agreed to fully support her and her daughter financially as long as he wasn't publicly identified as Alexandra's father.
Alexandra, however, doesn't believe she's bound to the agreement made by Jones and her mother, which led to her decision to legally prove that Jones is her biological father.
“Alex is in a position where she really no longer has to hide her truth or live under the thumb of fear, and maybe she’s going to finally get some peace, and we hope other families will have that same benefit from the judge following the law,” said Kris Hayes, an attorney representing Davis in the lawsuit, in a statement obtained by the New York Post.
Jones' attorneys attempted to argue that Cynthia's husband at the time of the alleged relationship is legally presumed to be Davis' father. The billionaire has been married to his wife, Eugenia, with whom he shares three children, since 1963.
