Shapiro Administration Announces EMS Tuition, Assistance Program

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Shapiro Administration has announced a million-dollar tuition assistance program to recruit and retain Emergency Medical Services workers. Acting Department of Health Secretary Dr. Debra Bogen made the announcement and says the administration is dedicated to assisting EMS workers and keeping them on the job. The program will be funded out of revenue from the Fireworks Tax Act over the next three years, and residents of Pennsylvania may have part of their tuition reimbursed by those who achieve certification as an EMT, Paramedic, or Emergency Medical Responder after July 1st, 2023.
