State Elections Chief Creates Office to Train County Workers

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Pennsylvania Department of State is starting a new office to help train county election workers. Commonwealth Secretary Al Schmidt says the department also plans to update its guidance for logic and accuracy testing. He says those kind of scans could have caught issues with the Northampton County voting machines during last November's elections. That's when the names of two state Superior Court judges were switched on the printed slip that voters can use before submitting their ballots.
