Habeas Corpus hearing set for First Week of November for Patricia Rorrer
(Harrisburg, PA) -- A Habeas Corpus hearing is scheduled for the first week of November for a woman accused of killing a Lehigh County woman and her baby over 30 years ago. Lawyers for Patricia Rorrer are expected to argue in their latest appeals that the state violated her constitutional rights to due process, a fair trial and to present a defense by withholding evidence that could have been favorable to her defense. Rorrer is serving a life sentence for the murder of Joann Katrinak and her infant son. A habeas corpus hearing brings a prisoner before the court to determine if the person's imprisonment or detention is lawful.
