House GOP Hears From 8 Speaker Candidates
(Washington, DC) -- The House is hearing from eight candidates for Speaker as the race enters a third week. A speaker forum was held Monday night to hear from those who filed to run, with an internal election on Tuesday. Pennsylvania Representative Dan Meuser dropped out Monday night. Vice chairman of the House GOP conference Mike Johnson said that it "may be a long day" when asked by reporters how things may shake up on Tuesday.
