The name of the man murdered over the weekend in the 500 block of West Allen Street in Allentown has been released by the Lehigh County Coroner's office. 58-year-old Orlando Ibanez, of Allentown, was shot around 1:45 Saturday morning and died less than an hour after that. Two adults and three children are homeless following a Monday morning fire in a rowhome in Easton’s west ward. Firefighters were called to 1201 Jackson Street just after 8:30 Monday morning. It took firefighters about a half-hour to control the fire, but not before 1201 Jackson Street was severely damaged by fire and neighboring 1203 Jackson Street sustaining smoke damage. Both have been determined to be uninhabitable. It’s unclear what caused Monday’s fire and it remains under investigation.

Former President Trump is voicing his concern over Pennsylvania's switch to automatic voter registration. He wrote in a Truth Social post, the system is "a disaster for the election of Republicans." Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro announced last week that the state would take on the system before the 2024 election. Eligible voters would be automatically opted in when renewing or getting new IDs and driver's licenses. Trump called for fellow Republicans to "start suing now" to stop the change. He won Pennsylvania in 2016 but lost it in 2020.

Two Pennsylvania lawmakers are proposing a bill that would require all new multi -story apartments and condominiums to have at least two elevators. State Representatives Brian Munroe and Greg Scott are both Democrats from Montgomery County. The proposal would require that at least one of two required elevators must be operational unless circumstances were out of the owner's control, such as during a power outage.

Last Friday, New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez was charged with federal bribery offenses, with prosecutors saying he accepted gold bars, a car, home mortgage payments and cash in exchange for enriching three businessmen, helping the Egyptian government and passing along non-public military information to Egyptian leaders. Monday, Menendez had a message to those calling for him to resign. "Instead of waiting for all the facts to be presented, others have rushed to judgement because they see a political opportunity for themselves or those around them," Menendez says. As for the nearly $500,000 in cash found inside his home, Menendez said it was his own cash that he has been withdrawing for 30 years in case of emergency and because of the threat of his family facing confiscation in Cuba.

The Philadelphia Eagles are 3-0 after a relatively easy 25-11 win in Tampa on Monday Night Football. The Eagles defense forced two turnovers and held Tampa Bay to just 174 total yards. Defensive end Brandon Graham says the key defensively was containing Tampa Bay's running game. "Stopping the run was big. The biggest thing was keep them out of manageable downs. I think stopping the run, getting negative plays helped us in the game and getting off the field," Graham says. The Eagles are now one of three unbeaten teams remaining. They hope to make it a 4-0 start this Sunday when they host Washington.
