Consumer Data Rights Subject of Hearing Today

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A public hearing is set for today on a piece of legislation that Representative Ed Neilson says gives consumers rights over their personal data. House Bill 1201 would require certain businesses to protect privacy and limit the collection of consumer data. The Democratic lawmaker from Philadelphia says state Attorney General will have exclusive authority to enforce violations if the measure becomes law. It is being discussed at a Commerce Committee hearing this morning.
