Wind Creek Bethlehem has shown off its $160 million renovations. The work almost doubled Wind Creek's room total, added the biggest meeting space in the area, a pool and deck area and a spa. Prior to the expansion, Wind Creek has 282 rooms available. Now, it has 568. Another new addition is a bar and restaurant just off the lobby.
An 89-year-old Weisenberg Township woman is dead after a crash that happened just before 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Myra Rosenberger died a little more than a hour after the crash that happened at Mill Creek Road and Old Route 22 in Weisenberg Township. Police say Rosenberger was a passenger in a vehicle involved in the crash that involved one other vehicle. Police are still investigating what happened.
Firefighters were on the scene for about five-and-a-half hours Thursday night for a Northampton County chemical fire and hazardous materials incident. Crews were called to Air Liquide on Demi Road in Upper Mount Bethel Township. Details on the fire remain unknown.
The Allentown School District is considering adding behavioral health services at one of the district's middle schools. In its Thursday night meeting, the Allentown Board of School Directors was presented with a plan known as the Youth Violence Prevention Project, which would provide behavioral health services to at risk students. The project is a joint effort between the district and several other groups such as United Way, Valley Youth House and the Justice Collaborative. If approved, more than $1.3 million would be funded for the program, which would be located at Allentown's Raub Middle School.
It's 1876 World's Fair Weekend this weekend in Bethlehem. The fair will take visitors back in time through machinery demos, reenactments, Victorian games, and more. There will also be live music and food at the event taking place at the National Museum of Industrial History on East 2nd Street in Bethlehem. Events will run Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
