Police are still investigating the death of an 8-year-old boy. The child died at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest Wednesday after being flown there Monday afternoon from Stroud Township with a head injury. It appears several children were playing outside when the boy was shot in the head with a BB gun. The child's name has not yet been released.
A Walnutport woman is accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old male student while she was a coach at Northampton Area High School. 26-year-old Hannah Marth was a javelin coach when she began a sexual relationship with the boy in May 2021. Investigators say that relationship continued until last October. Marth is currently a teacher in the Easton Area School District.
Demolition is underway at the site of the RM Palmer explosion in West Reading. On Thursday, crews were taking down part of the north-facing wall. Seven people died last month in the blast at the chocolate factory.
