Highmark Inc.'s Members Notified of Data Breach
(Harrisburg, PA) -- About 96-thousand people in Pennsylvania could be affected by a data breach at Highmark Incorporated. Officials with the health insurance agency say they've notified members of the security exposure that happened in mid-December. The company says that the breach came after an employee clicked on an email phishing link and unwittingly allowed someone outside the company to gain access to the files. Information potentially exposed to the hackers included names, claim numbers, dates of service, procedures, prescription data and Social Security numbers.
