Federal prosecutors have recommended four years in prison for a Fleetwood man who pleaded guilty in the January 6th riots at the U.S. Capitol. Alan Byerly is set to be sentenced October 21st for using a stun gun on both city police officers and Capitol police. He also attacked a news photographer. Byerly was arrested in July 2021 and pleaded guilty this summer to assault charges. To date, more than 280 riot defendants have been sentenced for their actions that day. Those sentences have ranged from anywhere from one week in jail to ten years.

Lower Saucon Township police are investigating a hit-and-run accident where one driver was seriously injured Saturday night. They're looking for a dark-colored Ford Explorer with heavy damage to the driver's side. Police say it was speeding south-bound on Route 412 near Meadows Road when it hit another car in the northbound lane. The driver of the other car was seriously hurt and is in the hospital. Anyone with information on the collision is asked to contact Lower Saucon police or submit an online tip on the department's Crime Watch page.

The number of complaints about liquor law violations at restaurants and bars in the area that serve alcohol nearly doubled during September 2022. Officials from the State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement say the figures are in comparison to August of this year. The complaints in Lehigh and Northampton counties involved businesses that sold alcohol to under-age buyers, as well as other liquor law violations. The number of complaints jumped to 117 during September - up from 63 during August.

Authorities are launching an investigation after a body was found in Monroe County. The body, later identified as 26-year-old Anthony Counterman who's originally from Stroudsburg, was discovered in the area of Pocono Creek near Stroud Township this past Friday morning. An autopsy is scheduled for today.

The Red Cross is assisting several people after a fire broke out at an apartment building in Carbon County. The blaze broke out at an apartment building located on East Catawissa Street in Nesquehoning yesterday morning. Authorities say the fire damaged two apartments, but no one was reported injured. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.

The estimated top prize in the multi-state Powerball lottery has now topped 400-million dollars. Four-hundred-one million dollars will be on the line when numbers are drawn tonight. Pennsylvania players will learn at 11 p.m. if they've become millionaires.

It wasn't pretty, but the Eagles are 5-0 after beating Arizona 20-17 Sunday afternoon. Head coach Nick Sirianni says the Cardinals gave them what they expected. "We knew that this was going to be a physical game. We knew we have a physical team. We knew our tendency was to be physical and when we needed it, we were," Sirianni said. The Eagles won after Arizona missed a field goal with less than a minute to play. This is the first time the Eagles have been 5-0 since starting the 2004 season 7-0.
