Justin Bieber Says Seeing Jacob Tremblay As Young Self Was 'Emotional'

Last week, Justin Bieber released his emotional collaboration with Benny Blanco, "Lonely," as well as its music video which features 14-year-old actor Jacob Tremblay as Bieber's younger self. Now, Justin and Benny are taking fans behind the scenes of the visual, during which Bieber reflects on seeing Tremblay as a younger version of him.

In the behind-the-scenes video, fans get a look at everything that happened during the filming of the clip, including the intense games of ping pong between Justin and Benny.

On watching Jacob play young Justin, Bieber explained, "It's honestly so fun to see a younger version of myself played by no other than Jacob Tremblay, who is one of my favorite young actors. It's just so cool to see the perspective of how I felt when I was that age and not knowing what was to come. This has definitely been super emotional to watch."

Blanco added later on, "Justin's literally looking at this monitor. Justin is actually watching his younger self at the same time. It's just like a trip."

"Lonely" follows Justin's other new song, "Holy" (which features Chance The Rapper). Bieber explained of his latest release:

In a message shared on social media, Justin explained of his new song and its visual, "'Lonely' is out now with @itsbennyblanco. When he and @finneas showed me this song to be honest it was hard to listen to considering how tough it was to get through some of these chapters. I went into the studio and sang through it which wasn’t easy but started to really see the importance of telling this story! It made me realize we all feel lonely at times! Being someone in my position I believe it is powerful to express vulnerability and that’s why I believe this song is so powerful! And @jacobtremblay is so talented. It was emotional to see him play me from the outside looking in."
