The compensation funds available from Pennsylvania's Roman Catholic dioceses to victims of clergy sexual abuse will be closing down today. The window for applying for those funds from the dioceses in Allentown, Philadelphia, Scranton and Pittsburgh will close to applications. However, the state Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a meeting Wednesday in order to discuss the statute of limitations concerning claims of sexual abuse against the Catholic Church. The decision could mean alleged now-adult victims of clergy sexual abuse could gain the ability to file lawsuits against institutions that allegedly covered those crimes up.

An autistic teen missing since Friday is safe. State police say 15-year-old Oscar Keel, a West Virginia boy in the care of Kidspeace in Orefield, had run away from the facility last Friday. However, police say Keel walked into the Whitehall Township police station Sunday morning looking for help. He's reportedly in good health and it's assumed he was either trying to get home or to an unidentified acquaintance in the Bethlehem area.

Several people are homeless today after a fire destroyed an apartment building in Carbon County. Firefighters were called to a multi-family home in Summit Hill early Sunday morning to find the second floor engulfed by fire. No one was injured by the Red Cross is assisting nine residents who were displaced by the blaze.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro says he's in favor of legalizing recreational marijuana. Shapiro also says he's in support of expunging records of anyone convicted of a non-violent offense with the drug.

Aviation officials are investigating after a helicopter crashed during the Bloomsburg Fair over the weekend. Both the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are working to determine why the sightseeing aircraft fell from the air into a parking lot south of the event's helipad on Saturday night. Three occupants of the chopper were hospitalized. Several cars parked in the lot were damaged during the crash.

Anglers working the waters of Pennsylvania are about to get a lot more to hook. Starting Tuesday, the state Fish and Boat Commission will begin placing thousands of adult brook, brown and rainbow trout into waterways across the state. Before the month of October is over, more than 82,000 trout will be supplied into more than 90 waterways in 47 different counties.

One of Joe Biden's 2020 presidential rivals is defending for the former vice president. "Joe Biden is a statesman. He is truly an honorable man," New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker tells CNN's State of the Union. He says he is offended that Republicans are trying to shift attention to Biden and away from President Trump as he faces an impeachment inquiry. Booker says he'll stand firmly in defense of Biden throughout the process.

The Phillies season ended at 81-81 after a 4-3 loss to Miami Sunday afternoon. Now, the question is whether manager Gabe Kapler will survive the off-season. Kapler says he wants to be back. "I love working with this front office. They've given me all sort of autonomy. I've felt supported by our ownership group. Our ownership group has done everything in their power to put a winning product on the field. I'm proud to be a Philadelphia Phillie and will do it as long as I am able," Kapler said. Kapler's record over his two seasons stands at 161-163.
