Father Beats Carjacker To Death After He Stole Car With Kids Inside: Cops

A Philadelphia father chased down a carjacker, pulled him out of the vehicle and beat him to death. Police say the man's girlfriend stopped by the pizza parlor he worked at and left her three young children, a 7-month-old, a one-year-old and a five-year-old, inside her running vehicle.

While she was inside, a 54-year-old man jumped into the car and sped away. The woman's boyfriend, who was the father of two of the children, ran outside and chased after the vehicle. The car thief only drove half a block before he became stuck in traffic. The children's father pulled the thief from the car and began to attack him as other bystanders joined in.

When the police arrived, they found the suspected thief bloodied and unconscious with severe injuries to his head. Paramedics rushed him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The man and his girlfriend were both taken into custody for questioning and are coopering with authorities. Officials have not released the identity of those involved and are reviewing the evidence to determine whether the man will face charges for killing the suspected thief.

The three children in the car were unharmed and are staying with other family members.
