Attorney General Michelle Henry is warning Pennsylvania residents that all remaining Big Lots stores in the state could close after the company filed for bankruptcy last year. The A-G said the 64 Big Lots locations in the commonwealth could shut down following a going-out-of-business sale authorized by a federal court last month. Henry is urging consumers to ensure their rights are being preserved while the company's bankruptcy proceedings continue. She recommends Big Lots customers make purchases with a credit card, so they could be disputed if needed.
Now that the PA Farm Show is over, its butter sculpture is headed for a recycling plant. The one-thousand-pound sculpture was deconstructed yesterday and moved to Reinford Farms in Mifflintown. The butter will be tossed into a methane digester, which will break it down into renewable energy. It's a fitting end for the sculpture titled: "From Moo to Marvel: Dairy Cows Power Pennsylvania."
President Biden's administration is allowing U.S. Steel and Nippon Steel to have more time to move on from their merger negotiations. Biden had ordered the companies to drop the plan within 30 days when he blocked the sale on January third, citing national security concerns. Now, the Committee on Foreign Investment is giving them until June 18th to step away from the acquisition talks. That means each company will have time to argue their lawsuits over the president's decision.

In a shocking turn of events, a plan to bring a new 76ers arena to Center City has been tossed out. Officials are now looking to demolish the Wells Fargo Center and build a new arena in south Philly, which will house the Sixers and Flyers for years to come. Reaction to the surprising news was mixed. "I'm glad. I'm glad the community is being protected," an opponent of the Center City plan said. A proponent of the idea said, "Personally, I would have loved to have had it right in the middle of the city, kind of like how Manhattan has Madison Square Garden." The news comes less than a month after members of the City Council approved the plan for the new Center City facility and several years of public debate. More details are expected this morning.
The Philadelphia Eagles have advanced in the NFL playoffs after a 22-10 win over Green Bay. The Eagles' offense sputtered much of the game, but Whitehall High School graduate Saquon Barkley ran for 119 yards in the win and said after the game it doesn't matter how they looked doing it. "We are our biggest critic and that's what we're going to be and see what we can improve on. At the end of the day that's for you guys. The only thing that matters is if we win the game, whether we throw for 400 yards, rush for 400 yards, or we win the game 3-0," Barkley said. Nazareth High School graduate Jahan Dotson caught a first quarter touchdown to help the Eagles advance. They'll play the winner of tonight's Vikings/Rams game next Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia.
