Here's what's trending for December 23.

President Biden is commuting the sentences of nearly all the inmates on federal death row, the White House announced early this morning. Of the 40 inmates on federal death row, Biden is commuting 37 men sentenced to death, reclassifying their sentences to life without the possibility of parole. The three inmates not included are: Robert Bowers, who is responsible for the mass shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh in 2018, which left 11 people dead; Dylann Roof, a White supremacist who killed nine Black parishioners at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2015; and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who worked with his now-dead brother to perpetuate the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing that killed three people and injured hundreds.

One person is dead after a fire in Schuylkill County. Crews were called to a home along Minersville Street in Norwegian Township around 5:30 Sunday afternoon. Firefighters found one man dead inside the home. His identity has not yet been released. The cause of the deadly fire remains under investigation by a Pennsylvania State Police fire marshal.

Easton police are investigating a shooting that sent a teenager to the hospital. Authorities say a 14-year-old was shot on the 1200 block of Butler Street Saturday night. The victim is expected to survive. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact Easton P-D.

Two people are in the hospital after a wrong-way crash in Northampton County. State Police say a vehicle going south in the northbound lane of Route 33 collided head-on with another vehicle Sunday morning. Troopers say both drivers had suspected serious injuries. The crash is being investigated.

Everyone in Monroe County has their lights back on after yesterday's power outage. Met-Ed crews spent part of their day yesterday restoring power to people in Monroe and Northampton counties. The company says an equipment failure knocked out the power yesterday afternoon. At its worst, there were about three thousand people in the dark in Monroe County, and another 10 thousand people without power in Northampton County. Met-Ed says the outage had nothing to do with the wind or the weather.

Pennsylvania Democrat Sen. John Fetterman says he hopes the second Trump administration is a successful one. "I'm not rooting against him. If you're rooting against the president, you're rooting against the nation. I'm not ever going to be a guy who wants the president to fail. It's country first," Fetterman told ABC's "This Week."

Pennsylvania continues to set records for gambling revenue. Numbers released by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board show that more than 562-million dollars was generated by the commonwealth's gambling venues and through other forms of gambling in November.

Washington scored a touchdown with under ten seconds to play to beat the Eagles 36-33. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni says the blame begins with him. "When it's sloppy with every piece, that's going to be on me as the head coach," Sirianni said after the loss. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts sustained a concussion in the first quarter and missed the rest of the game. Kenny Pickett played in his place and went 14-of-24 for 143 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

The Phillies are adding a southpaw to their starting rotation. The team acquired Jesus Luzardo and a minor league catcher from the Marlins on Sunday in exchange for a pair of prospects. Luzardo went 3-and-6 with a 5.00 ERA in 12 starts last season. He missed significant time with elbow and back injuries. Luzardo has a career 4.29 ERA in 89 starts with Miami and the Athletics. Meanwhile, the Fish got shortstop Starlyn Caba and outfielder Emaarion Boyd in the deal. Both players were in Single-and-High-A ball last season.
