A man is dead after a fire at his home in Smithfield Township. No one is saying how the fire at the man's home on Pocono Lane started just after 5 pm yesterday evening. The coroner's office says the man is 68-years-old, and died at the scene. The Pennsylvania State Police are leading the investigation. They are not saying when they expect to have any more answers in the case.

One person is dead following a crash in Lehigh County this past weekend. Officials say a vehicle drove off the road in Upper Macungie Saturday evening and went down an embankment. The driver, identified as Stephen La Pierre, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash is being investigated.

Authorities are looking into a deadly weekend stabbing in Stroudsburg. It happened yesterday afternoon on Main Street. Police say that's where they found a 41-year-old man from Staten Island. He'd been stabbed. Officers say the man was rushed to Lehigh Valley Pocono Hospital, but he later died there. There's no word about suspects, a motive, or what led up to the stabbing.

Former President Trump hosted a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania for the first time since an assassination attempt in July. On Saturday, Trump said he believes it was divine intervention that saved him from being shot that day, echoing similar comments made earlier by his running made JD Vance. He thanked the Secret Service agents who protected him that day, calling them heroes. He also spoke of the firefighter killed while shielding his family during the shooting, and asked for a moment of silence from the crowd. Massive security was in place for the event with the Secret Service saying Trump had "heightened protection." Law enforcement presence was highly visible and included drones, additional unformed officers and counter sniper teams.

Former president Donald Trump is holding a rally in Reading this week. The Trump Campaign says it will take place Wednesday at Santander Arena. The rally is scheduled for 7 p.m, with doors opening at 3. Earlier Wednesday, Trump will be in Scranton for a 3pm rally at Riverfront Sports.

President Biden is campaigning for Democratic Senator Bob Casey in Pennsylvania this week. Casey is in a tight race against Republican Dave McCormick in the swing state. The seat is critical and could be the difference between the Democratic party's control of the chamber. Casey is a longtime friend of the President. Biden plans to stop in the Philadelphia area for the fundraiser on Tuesday.

As tensions continue to rise in the Middle East, Israeli officials say they are preparing a military response to Iran's missile attack that hit the country last week. This comes as the IDF pushes forward in their ground operation against Hezbollah strongholds in Lebanon. Pennsylvania Democrat Sen. John Fetterman says he will support Israel no matter what. "For me, it's about following Israel and I've been very clear that my voice and that vote will follow Israel on that. And whatever they decide to do in response to Iran, I'm going to support that because Israel will have a better idea of the intelligence and the circumstances on the ground and that's why I'm going to follow and support that," Fetterman says.

A federal report says New Jersey's shortage of nurses is expected to continue and the Garden State will need 25-thousand more nurses in twelve years to meet demand. The report comes from the federal Health Resources and Services Administration. It projects a nursing shortage nationwide of nearly 338,000 by the year 2036. The report states New Jersey will see the fourth-largest shortage, 25 percent, or more than 24,000,among all states.
