Nine people were hospitalized yesterday after they reportedly became sickened by an odor at Walmart. The nine hospitalized are in stable condition.

A swimmer that went missing at the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area over the weekend is dead. One Pennsylvania lawmaker wants a study to see just how much the State Police have been taking-over for local police departments across the state. Rep. Tim Brennan says too many towns or townships are eliminating their police department, and relying on the State Police for protection and patrols. Brennan says the situation is now starting to weigh on the State Police. He's proposing an order that would have the Joint State Government Commission look at what the extra patrols are costing in terms of dollars and manpower. Brennan says local leaders who say they support the police need to get involved, because he says local police cuts are making it almost impossible for the State Police to do their jobs.

The defense in the corruption trial of New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez is expected to begin presenting its case this week. Among the first defense witnesses likely to appear are Menendez's sister, his wife Nadine Menendez's sister and a forensic accounting expert. Prosecutors wrapped up seven weeks of testimony on Friday, outlining a scheme in which Menendez and his wife allegedly accepted cash, gold bars, a Mercedes and other gifts in exchange for political favors. Menendez' lawyers have said the money and gold were gifts to Nadine Menendez from generous friends.
