President Joe Biden's Lehigh Valley visit is prompting some local school districts to have early dismissals today. The Catasauqua, East Penn, Parkland, Salisbury Township and Whitehall-Coplay school districts are all sending students home early this morning due to planned road closures and traffic delays caused by the presidential visit.

President Biden is polling ahead of former President Trump in Pennsylvania ahead of the Democrat's appearance in the state this coming Friday. The new poll from Quinnipiac University found Biden received 49 percent support and that Trump received 46 percent support from voters in the swing state. The president is set to travel to Pennsylvania Friday to visit the Allentown area for a speech on his economic agenda. took Pennsylvania in 2020 after Trump won the state in 2016.

"I suspect the rain holds off until well after sunset, so we should get through the evening commute. As we to to about 8 or 9 o'clock I think the rain will begin to fall across the area and by daybreak tomorrow, it's done," Lundberg says. He says most areas will pick up another inch of rain from this system. He says there's a chance of a decent snowfall on Tuesday and then again at the end of next week.

Police in Easton have named the suspect in a December 11th shooting in Easton's Centre Square. Authorities say 23-year-old Tamir Freeman shot another man around 9:30pm two weeks before Christmas. That man survived, but police say has not cooperated with their investigation. Police believe Freeman is armed and if you see him, don't approach him and instead call 911.

Wegmans is issuing a recall of its Oatrageous Oat Cookies due to the presence of of undeclared wheat. Starting on January 3, the recalled cookies were sold at Wegmans locations in Pennsylvania and seven states and the District of Columbia. The recall affects cookies sold in 5 packs and sold by the pound. According to the FDA, there had been no reported injuries or illnesses associated with the recall as of January 10. Customers can return the recalled cookies to a Wegmans service desk for a full refund.

The commonwealth has a new judge on the state supreme court. Daniel McCaffery was sworn in Thursday as the newest supreme court justice. His brother, retired Supreme Court Justice Seamus McCaffery, administered his oath of office.

New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez wants a Manhattan judge to dismiss the federal government's corruption case against him, claiming immunity from prosecution. New Jersey's senior senator says his conduct outlined in the charges is constitutionally protected. Menendez has denied charges that he worked as a foreign agent for Egypt or Qatar. He's also pleaded not guilty to accepting a Mercedes and hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and gold bars from businessmen trying to obstruct law enforcement investigations.
