Easton's mayor says he's fine. A week-and-a-half after he became dizzy and fell twice, Sal Panto says he went to his doctor, who performed a CAT scan and cardiology tests, all of which checked out okay. Panto endured dizzy spells and fell twice at the Easton-Phillipsburg Halloween parade Oct. 29.

Pennsylvania Senator Bob Casey says he's going to introduce legislation to increase staffing levels and improve care at nursing homes nationwide. Casey's proposal comes as a Pennsylvania nurse faces several murder and attempted murder charges for allegedly administering lethal doses of insulin to patients. Registered nurse Heather Pressdee has reportedly confessed to trying to kill 19 people at several facilities throughout western Pennsylvania, including two in Butler County. Casey chairs the Senate Aging Committee, which has found that one out of nine nursing homes nationwide has not been inspected for two years.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is considering adding the Black Rail to its list of threatened birds. A public notice says the bird's population has been decreasing in the state and they want residents to offer comments on the proposed classification. Black Rails are already protected federally. They're the smallest rail species in North America and experts say they're the most secretive in behavior and habitat.

New Jersey Transit is offering free rides for veterans and current active members of the armed forces for Veterans Day Saturday. Transit officials say anyone wearing a U.S. military uniform or displaying a military or veteran ID will be allowed on trains, buses and light rail services for free. For the rest of this year, military personnel and their children can use the one-way reduced ticket option with their valid military or military-dependent ID cards.

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is preparing to visit Israel this weekend. Christie will land in Israel on Sunday, making him the first Republican presidential hopeful to visit the region since the Hamas attacks on October 7th. He'll meet with Israeli officials and individuals wounded in the conflict. During the third GOP primary debate on Wednesday, Christie said Israel needs to ensure that "Hamas can never do this again."

The two day manhunt for the New Jersey man wanted in connection to the January 6th Capitol riot is over. The FBI says Gregory Yetman turned himself into police in Monroe Township "without incident" this morning. Authorities had been searching for Yetman in the woods near the town of Helmetta in Middlesex County after he ran off Wednesday morning while they were trying to arrest him. Yetman is facing a slew of charges in connection to the Capitol riot that took place nearly three years ago, which include assaulting, resisting, and impeding certain officers.
