A bed-and-breakfast near the Lafayette College campus will soon be owned by the college. Lafayette says it has reached a deal to buy the Lafayette Inn on West Monroe Street and will keep it as a hotel. The 18-room mansion dates back to 1895. Closing on the transaction is scheduled for August 31st.

Police in the Poconos are commenting on reports involving the man charged in four Idaho killings and a local death. Stroud Area Regional police say they have no evidence that the disappearance of Dana Smithers, whose remains were found in Monroe County last month, nearly a year after she went missing, is tied to Bryan Kohberger, the Monroe man charged in the Idaho student slayings.

Bethlehem has lost two national chain restaurants. Dickie’s Barbecue Pit on Schoenersville Road has closed. There are more than 650 Dickie's across the country, but now none here in the Lehigh Valley. Along with the Dickie’s location, Burgerim is also closed at Schoernersville Centre. The chain specializing in mini-burgers has more than 200 locations in the United States.
