A Monroe County man is dead following a crash in Northampton County. The accident happened yesterday morning on Route 33 in Plainfield Township near Wind Gap. Police say 41-year-old Peter Delanoy of Saylorsburg died after he lost control of his car and hit a tree.

Today, tomorrow and Friday are all expected to have high temperatures of 94 degrees. Accu-Weather's Joe Lundberg says that's pleasant when compared to what's to come after that. "As hot as it's going to be the next three days, I think it has the potential to be even hotter this weekend, particularly Sunday," Lundberg says. Sunday's high temperature could approach 100 degrees according to Lundberg.

Fire destroyed a pole barn near a home in Lehigh County. It happened around 12:30 this morning in the 4000 block of Buck Run in North Whitehall Township. There's no word yet on what caused the fire.

The Easton Zoning Hearing Board has granted a special exception and variances for the proposed "Grand Riverview Hotel" on South Delaware Drive, near Route 611 and Ann Street. The proposal is for an eight-story, 108-room hotel. In addition to the guest rooms, meeting and event spaces, a restaurant and bar, a rooftop venue, a terrace and a gazebo are planned.

Pennsylvania's gaming industry has never had as big a fiscal year as the one just completed June 30th. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board says for the first time ever, revenue figures eclipsed the $5 billion mark. The tax money turned over to the state also hit a record of more than $2 billion. The previous high water marks for gaming revenue and tax revenue in a fiscal year were $3.87 billion and $1.59 billion respectively. The Wind Creek Casino Resort in Bethlehem pulled in more than $530 million in the most-recent fiscal year, more than $168-million more than fiscal year 2020-2021.

Pennsylvania's gas prices continue to head lower. According to AAA East Central, the average price for a gallon of unleaded stood at $4.66 Tuesday, down 11 cents from the week before. However, it is $1.41 higher than July 19th of last year. In the Lehigh Valley, the average price Tuesday was $4.53 a gallon, down 14 cents from the previous week, but still $1.32 more than 2021.

A 39-year-old Bethlehem landscaper is accused of taking money from people but not completing the work, David Grant was arraigned Monday afternoon on numerous felony charges. The alleged crimes took place in Bethlehem, Bethlehem Township and Lower Nazareth Township and Grant is accused of pocketing a total of more than $13,000 from 11 victims. Grant was released after arraignment on $50,000 unsecured bail and has a preliminary hearing tentatively scheduled for Aug. 8

In an effort to keep food and drink lines moving, Musikfest is bringing back CashCards. The reloadable cards will be available at booths throughout the festival. Musikfest 2022 is set for Aug. 5-14.

The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue has issued a warning to business owners in to be on high alert about imposters who ask for accounting records. Revenue Secretary Dan Hassell says the imposters are using notices that include the Department of Revenue name and logo. Anyone with questions about the legitimacy of a notice from the department should use the contact information listed on the department's website: www.revenue.pa.gov.

Pennsylvanians who struggle with tobacco addiction can now participate in a state-run program to help their recovery. The Pennsylvania Tobacco-Free Recovery Initiative launched last year and it is trying to encourage Pennsylvanians who are engaged in drug and alcohol recovery programs to also seek out treatment for tobacco use. The PA free quitline is also a statewide program that assists people to quit tobacco each year.

The Philadelphia Phillies will be installing a huge, new scoreboard at Citizens Bank Park. The new video board will be 77 percent larger; big enough, team officials say, to display over 500 life-size Phillie Phanatics simultaneously. It'll be installed in time for the 2023 season.
