A 29-year-old man was taken to the hospital after being shot in Easton. Police were called to a report of shots fired just before 2:00 a.m. Saturday to the area of Centre Square and S. 3rd St. The man was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the victim is not cooperating with police.

It was another rough weekend in Berks County, with about 20 overdoses and at least four deaths reported. District Attorney John Adams says there's some bad drugs making their way through the county. "Clearly there is a significantly bad batch of drugs that are out there. A batch of drugs that is causing a number of overdoses," Adams says. This comes months after authorities said another bad batch of drugs in the Reading area sent more than 100 people to hospitals and left three people dead.

Former President Donald Trump is endorsing Dr. Mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania's Republican Senate race. The ex-president says Oz has already shown he is popular with the masses. "When you're in television for 18 years, that's like a pole. That means people like you," the ex-president said. In a statement, he former president says Oz is “Pro-Life, very strong on Crime, the Border, Election Fraud, our Great Military, and our Vets, Tax Cuts, and will always fight for and support our under-siege Second Amendment.” Both Oz and fellow Republican candidate David McCormick met with the ex-president recently.

Many Republican candidates for governor are now focusing on the importance of the natural gas industry in the state. Political watchdogs say the issue has taken on new urgency because of the invasion of Ukraine. Some candidates are saying more needs to be done in order to get natural gas processed. Pennsylvania is the second leading producer of natural gas in the country, behind Texas.

A former Penn State football player has died. Family members say Gary Brown has passed away after his battle with cancer at the age of 52. Brown played for Penn State from 1987 to 1990, leaving as the 15th leading rusher in Penn State history, before going to the NFL, where he played Oilers, Chargers and Giants. Brown went on to have a successful coaching career, which included time as an assistant in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns and the Dallas Cowboys.

A Republican state lawmaker says his marijuana banking bill in the ennsylvania Senate is gaining more support. Sen. John DiSanto says many cannabis businesses deal only in cash because of federal regulations, so his bill would let banks do business not only with dispensaries but also with testing and research labs that grow marijuana for medicinal purposes in the state. He hopes the full Senate will vote on the bill by the end of the month.

Tonight's estimated Powerball jackpot stands at $288 million. Lottery players were kept in suspense Saturday night when the game's most recent numbers drawing was delayed by about five hours. Officials say the unusual delay was triggered when one participating state required additional time to complete their security procedures before the numbers could be pulled. When the numbers were eventually drawn, the event was streamed live online, with no big winner.

Despite Sunday's 4-1 loss to Oakland, Phillies manager Joe Girardi liked what he saw on opening weekend against the A's. "Obviously, you don't make too much of your first week because you've got 159 more to go," Girardi says. The Phillies took two of three from Oakland and host the Mets tonight.
