A late Tuesday night incident has left two people dead on the South Side of Easton. Police were called to the Canal Park Apartments around 11:30 last night and when they arrived they found a man and a woman dead and another woman with a gunshot wound to the leg. Police say that woman was in a neighboring apartment and was hit when a bullet went through the wall. DA Terence Houck says police are not looking for anybody else who may have been involved in the incident and there's no danger to the public.

Pennsylvania health officials say that 48-percent of Pennsylvanians have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The state is ranked 10th in the nation for percent of population with at least one dose. State health officials aim to have 80-percent of Pennsylvanians vaccinated to reach herd immunity.

Pennsylvania is aligning its face mask guidelines for fully vaccinated individuals with the CDC's recommendations. State health officials say in accordance to the updated CDC guidelines, people who are fully vaccinated do not have to wear a mask when outdoors, except when in crowded spaces. Those who are not vaccinated are still supposed to wear a mask in most situations. You can read more about the updated guidelines at www.cdc.gov.

The state is extending a pop-up COVID-19 test site in Northampton County. The drive-thru and walk-up testing site will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, May 1, at the Northampton Memorial Community Center on Laubach Ave. in Northampton Borough. The turnaround testing time for results is two to seven days.

When Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom open next month, visitors to the water park will need to make a reservation. Dorney Park will open for the season on May 22 with daily operations beginning June 16 and running through Labor Day. Wildwater Kingdom will open for the season May 29 by reservation only for all visitors, including season passholders. The online reservation system will be active 10 a.m. May 3. Reservations will not be needed for Dorney Park.

New Jersey's coronavirus transmission rate is the lowest it's been in two months. It comes as 1930 additional infections were reported Tuesday, with 60 confirmed deaths as well. Gov. Phil Murphy says more than 2.8-million New Jerseyans are now fully vaccinated.

The State System of Higher Education is considering two different consolidation plans this morning in Harrisburg. The Board of Governors will consider integrating California, Clarion and Edinboro universities as well as Bloomsburg, Lock Haven and Mansfield. President of Kutztown University's faculty union Tom Stewart doesn't like the idea. "It sets the precedent that's concerning. We're not part of a merger now. We don't want to be part of a merger in the future," Stewart says. If the board approves a plan, there will be a 60-day public comment period. A final vote would happen in July and if approved, the integrated university would begin taking students in August 2022.

Lawmakers are looking to change the process of how a lieutenant governor is chosen. Tuesday, the state Senate passed a proposed constitutional amendment that would modify the process to resemble how a presidential candidate chooses their vice president. Those running for governor would choose their own lieutenant governor with the approval from their political parties instead of Pennsylvania voters. The proposal is now heading to the House for consideration.

President Joe Biden is coming to Pennsylvania this Friday. White House officials say the President will be in Philadelphia for Amtrak's 50th anniversary and as part of his "Getting America Back on Track" tour. It comes after the President announced his infrastructure plan that includes improving and expanding Amtrak train service across the country.

The Pennsylvania Bar Association president is resigning after being hit with a prostitution charge. David Schwager resigned after the Bar Association's leadership was notified of the charge. They add that while the charge is troubling, every person accused of a crime is considered innocent until proven guilty.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission believes the bobcat population is growing here. The Journal of Fish and Wildlife Management estimates there are around 20,000 bobcats in Pennsylvania. While you shouldn't be concerned if you see one, it's noted if a bobcat is overly friendly or aggressive, it could be rabid.

Small businesses only have one more day to pre-register for phase four of New Jersey's Small Business Emergency Assistance Grant Program. Pre-registration is required in order for companies to apply and the window closes Thursday at 5pm. Owners who apply can qualify for grants ranging between $10,000 and $20,000.
