Pennsylvania Department of Health officials are adding 670 new COVID-19 cases to the state total. That brings the state's overall total to 133,504 confirmed cases since the pandemic began. There were two new deaths reported Sunday, with the statewide death toll at 7673.

This comes at Philadelphia has not allowed restaurants to reopen for indoor dining due to the ongoing pandemic. Kenney's office released a statement that said in part, "He looks forward to expanding indoor dining next week." Some Philadelphia residents went to social media to speak their minds and question how the mayor could do that while restaurants in his city are struggling.

COVID-19 has forced Temple University leaders to make a tough decision. The school will temporarily pause in-person classes. It will last for two weeks after the university learned about 100 active coronavirus cases including 58 being reported on Friday. Some classes that require face-to-face instruction will still be allowed after being approved. The move will last through September 11th.

A $20 million subsidy that has helped boost several racetracks is among Gov. Phil Murphy's proposed budget cuts. The money has helped the racetracks bolster their purses and boost races. The money was established lastyear for the first time and was supposed to last for five years, but budget cuts due to the COVID-19 pandemic have cast its future in doubt.

Two adults are hurt after three boys and one girl allegedly assaulted them Saturday evening. Police say the alleged attack on the man and woman appeared to be random and not an attempted robbery. They added they don't know how the alleged victims were chosen and it may have just been something the four just wanted to do. The status of the victims has not been released.

The last Kmart in the Valley closed its doors Sunday in Walnutport. This shopper says they were there for one last look and some final bargain shopping. "This was a really good store. It really serviced our community," the woman said. There's now only one Kmart remaining in Pennsylvania, up in Luzerne County.

A popular Lehigh County diner has closed its doors for the final time. The Bear Swamp Diner in Macungie held its final breakfast Sunday. Owners say it's a bittersweet end to a long history. The diner was a staple of Macungie events like Das Awkscht Fescht and Wheels of Time, and was a favorite among locals.

Police are investigating the stabbing death of a woman in Shenandoah. Police were called early Sunday morning and found a 37-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds. Witnesses told them they spotted the woman's ex-boyfriend on top of her on the porch, but he ran off when they yelled at him to get away from the woman. An autopsy is planned. Police are now saying 22-year-old Nathaniel Kimmel is charged with killing April Mahmod.

The Democrat nominee for president will be in Pittsburgh this afternoon. Joe Biden will speak at a to-be-disclosed location later today. His remarks are expected to be on the theme: Are you safe in Donald Trump's America?

Juneteenth is officially a holiday in Pittsburgh. Mayor Bill Peduto made the announcement over the weekend during the Black Voting Rights Forum. Juneteenth is the commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States in 1863.

New Jersey drivers will pay more at the pump by October when the gasoline tax increases by 9.3-cents a gallon. State treasury officials say gasoline consumption dropped by almost 30-percent from March to May because motorists stayed off the roads. Diesel fuel consumption also fell by more than 16-percent. The increases are required under a 2016 law that mandates a consistent revenue stream for the state's Transportation Department to finance infrastructure projects for roads and bridges.

A proposed bill in the New Jersey legislature would require flu shots for students at all public and private school students, preschools and universities. The proposal comes as health experts predict a resurgence of COVID-19 when the flu season arrives this fall. State law already requires children in daycare centers and preschools to receive the flu shot. The bill's sponsors hope to pass the new law by October first so students can build an immunity before the flu season.

New Jersey health officials are urging residents to take precautions to prevent mosquito bites as New Jersey enters peak West Nile Virus season. A Monmouth County man in his 70s is one of the two first confirmed cases this year. Health officials say West Nile activity has been lower this season than in past years. Most cases occur in early September.

Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie delivered his annual State of the Eagles address Sunday and spent a lot of time talking about non-football issues. He said America is dealing with not one, but two pandemics right now. "One that has existed for the history of our entire country: the pandemic of systemic racism. Violence against minorities, oppression, all that kind of activities that have been part of our history," Lurie said. He said it's important for everyone to feel the pain of racism and until that happens, true progress cannot be made.
