Here's what's trending for June 1.

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf is calling for peace as many across the state are protesting alleged police brutality and calling for justice in the death of Minnesota's George Floyd. "To the folks out there who are demonstrating as is your right, do it in a way that honors democracy. Do it in a way that reaffirms its noble potential and do it in a way that honors the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Speak your mind and speak it with peace," Wolf says. The governor says every Pennsylvanian should speak out against violence and oppression and Floyd's death has outraged many of us. Saturday, Wolf signed a disaster emergency declaration to provide necessary assistance to cities as protests and in some cases riots were happening.

Weekend Lehigh Valley protests over the death of George Floyd were peaceful. Protests were held in Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton. Police in each of those three cities report no incidents and no arrests were made.

Peaceful protests over the killing of George Floyd took place throughout New Jersey over the weekend. In fact, a portion of a protest in Newark has gone viral with a video of a large number of people participating in a group dance. Rallies were held in Newark, Camden, Englewood, Paterson and in a number of smaller towns with people outraged over the death of George Floyd while he was in custody of Minneapolis police.

Pennsylvania health officials confirmed 511 additional cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the statewide total to almost 72,000. 18 new coronavirus-related deaths were also reported Sunday. Pennsylvania has now seen 5555 deaths related to the coronavirus pandemic.

As the state of New Jersey continues to gradually reopen, the latest number of deaths from coronavirus continues a downward trend with 66 newly reported deaths Sunday. There were also 868 new daily number of positive tests reported. So far, New Jersey has had more than 100,060 cases of coronavirus.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy is expected to announce further reopenings today as the metrics in the coronavirus continues to improve. The announcement could mean loosened restrictions on restaurants and non-essential businesses. The governor says he most certainly will open up outdoor dining at restaurants before customers can dine indoors.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy hopes casinos in Atlantic City can be opened around July 4th. Murphy says strict social distancing and occupancy limits will be enforced to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Casinos were closed on March 16th. Casinos have reportedly losts millions in revenue and thousands of workers were laid off.

Allentown police are investigating a crash that involved three vehicles. The accident happened around 8:15 p.m. Sunday at Union Boulevard and North Plymouth Street. At least two people were taken to the hospital, but their injuries were not serious. Authorities haven't said what caused the crash.
