Police in Allentown are investigating after a fight led to two people being shot near the Maingate nightclub on North 17th Street overnight. The incident happened just after 2 o'clock this morning. Both shooting victims were taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital with what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Police in Palmer Township are seeking an 80-year-old man they consider to be armed and dangerous after he is suspected of killing his 66-year-old wife inside their Orchard Road. Investigators believe Edgar Himel killed Penny VanTassel-Himel and then left. This woman lives near the couple and says she's stunned her neighbor died in this manner. "She was always kind to my parents who lived here before us and she was always a friendly person and I know she went to church every Sunday," the neighbor says. The woman's body was found after she didn't make it to church and her pastor became concerned. It's believed she had been dead several days before the body was found. The cause of her death has not been determined. Edgar Himel remains at large and if you have any information on his whereabouts, call 911.

Two years after the death of a 77-year-old woman at Cedarbrook nursing home, that nursing home is being sued. Shirley Leibenguth fell in July 2017 while a nurse assistant was trying to move her without help. Leibenguth suffered two broken legs and facial injuries and died hours later from complications due to the fall. Today's Morning Call reports Cedarbrook is now being sued for allegedly not having enough nurses and not properly training the nurse assistant who tried to move Leibenguth. The suit alleges from 2015 to 2017 Cedarbrook understaffed its registered nurses by about 30 percent and its certified nurse assistants up to 22 percent in order to save up to $3 million each year. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Leibenguth's brother and seeks more than $75,000 in damages.

A Schnecksville man is in custody and charged with assault, strangulation and making terroristic threats. A woman told police 46-year-old Jeffrey Crossley assaulted her and tried to strangle her. Police eventually surrounded a house where they believed Crossley was inside and shut down nearby Route 309 for several hours. They later discovered Crossley was not inside the home. Police eventually found him back at his own home where he was taken into custody without incident.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed an Allentown townhome and damaged two others nearby. The blaze on East Cedar Street Sunday afternoon was likely electrical-related and may have been accidental. Five adults and two children were displaced by the fire. The Red Cross is helping them find temporary shelter. No injuries are reported.

Organizers say several hundred people showed up at the 70th annual Kutztown Folk Festival's quilt auction over the weekend. The event featured thousands of quilts on display and an auction with some going for thousands of dollars. Most of the quilts on display were made within a 20-mile radius of Kutztown.

Police in the Hershey area are investigating an alleged abduction attempt at Hersheypark that has gone viral. In the story that's circulating on Facebook, a woman repeatedly tried to separate a boy from his group at the Boardwalk section of the amusement park, eventually needing a teen to stop the woman from dragging the child away.

The long holiday weekend's reenactments in Gettysburg are wrapped up. The group recreated the Battle of Gettysburg starting Friday before wrapping up the performance Sunday. The holiday marked the 156th anniversary of the battle.

The Phillies head into the All-Star break on a winning note after beating the Mets 8-3 Sunday afternoon. The Phils are six-and-a-half behind Atlanta in the NL East. Pitcher Aaron Nola takes a look back at the first half of the season and ahead to the second. "I think we were kind of up and down in the first half. We were in first for a little while then the Braves got hot. We've still got a lot of ball left. We just need to play consistent," Nola says. The Phils are off for the All-Star break until Friday when they take on the Nationals.
