The man found with multiple gunshot wounds near Dorney Park on Monday is also wanted for murder in New Jersey. Prosecutors in Hudson County say Jonathan Haughey-Morales is the man found shot near Route 222 in South Whitehall Township. Haughey-Morales is wanted for the murder of a North Bergen man and for the shooting of three other people during the same incident. South Whitehall Township police have Haughey-Morales in custody. They say he was apparently shot at another location befor being dropped off at the Hamilton Boulevard Bypass and Haines Mill Road.
A current Bethlehem resident is heading behind bars for being in the United States illegally...again. The U.S. Attorney's office announced Tuesday that Martin Castro-Molina, a Mexican citizen, has been found guilty of reentering the country after being previously deported. Castro-Molina has already been deported three times between 2008 and 2017, using phony names to avoid prosecution.
A Catasauqua man is dead after a Monday morning motorcycle crash in Whitehall Township. Todd Hunger died at the hospital about an hour after the accident at Fullerton and Fairmont avenues.
A 65-year-old Bethlehem man has died after a Monday afternoon crash with a school bus. John Mroshinskie died about two-and-a-half hours after the crash that happened as he was driving on Hellertown Road near Silvex Road. While the crash happened in Bethlehem, the Bethleheam Area School District says it was not one of their buses. Police are still investigating.
St. Rep. Brian Sims says he can do better and will do better...for Planned Parenthood and the women of Pennsylvania after he posted a video of him berated a woman who was praying outside a Philadelphia Planned Parenthood clinic. "As a Planned Parenthood volunteer and as a supporter, I fully understand, respect and appreciate the non-engagement policy that they have and I'd never want to do anything that would interfere with the care that they're providing for their patients," Sims says. In a new video he posted Tuesday, Sims says he should have shown protesters "praying at" rather than praying for women and harassing women going into the clinic for abortions. Pro-life activists are now planning a large-scale protest outside that clinic Friday morning.
Hundreds of young people are urging lawmakers in Harrisburg to increase the sales age for tobacco in Pennsylvania. More than 600 members of the Tobacco Resistance unit spoke with lawmakers prior to a rally Tuesday at the state Capitol. The group wants the age raised from 18 to 21 for all tobacco products.
A proposal to expand a private school tax credit program is moving out of the state House of Representatives. The measure nearly doubles the Education Improvement Tax Credit and would expand eligibility limits for families looking to qualify for the private school scholarships created by the program. All House Republicans and four Democrats voted in favor of the measure.
Toronto blasted the 76ers 125-89 in game five of their playoff series Tuesday night. Like he did in game four, Sixers star Joel Embiid tried to play while sick, but was ineffective. Sixers coach Brett Brown says critics of his best player should back off. "He's trying to play for us. He's trying to get out of bed with a significant temperature and represent the organization. I think it's grossly unfair some of the criticism he gets. I don't understand that," Brown said. Game six in the series is tomorrow night in Philadelphia.
