The coroner was called to a home in Hellertown this morning. Police blocked off the 1000 block of Easton Road near Gregory Park for several hours. Officers used megaphones to talk to someone inside a home there. Eventually police entered the home and the coroner was called. Easton Road was reopened around 8 o'clock this morning. It has now been determined an individual inside the house in question committed suicide.

Police in Bethlehem now say the life-threatening injuries suffered by a six-week-old baby appear to be accidental. Initial reports that the injuries were caused by an aggravated assault were released inadvertently. The baby remains hospitalized.

An Allentown man is possibly facing more than 100 years behind bars for fraud and identity theft. Jose Anico was indicted Thursday for allegedly using the identity of a deceased New York City man and using the information for a variety of fraudulent purposes, including applying for Social Security, Medicare, a Pennsylvania drivers license and a passport. Prosecutors also claim Anico received more than $475,000 in government benefits under the dead man's name. If convicted, Anico could end up sentenced to as many as 152 years in prison and fined more than $2.5 million.

A man is behind bars for biting and beating a woman, then telling her he'd make her disappear. Neftali Pizarro remains in custody after allegedly assaulting and strangling a woman in an Atlantic Street home Thursday. Police say Pizarro injured the victim in several ways, including biting the woman twice on her forearm and pushing her head through a wall. Officials say the woman claims Pizarro threatened to make her disappear if her were jailed.

Macungie Borough Council is asking councilman Marvin Moyer to resign. The 75-year-old Moyer has missed 64 out of 78 council meetings during the past three years, reportedly because of health issues. The Morning Call reports council voted 4-2 in favor of asking Moyer to resign in order to get a more regular seventh council member. Moyer's term ends at the end of this year.

UGI is warning customers about impostors and phone scams. The company says it has received reports of people impersonating UGI workers going door-to-door trying to get in people's homes. UGI says customers should ask to see ID before allowing anyone to enter their homes. The company also says people have received bogus phone calls demanding money for missed payments.

The Lehigh Valley Steelhawks have announced they won't play a 2019 season. The organization says it plans to take a hiatus as the search continues for new ownership. The team is continuing to search for a new owner who will commit to the Lehigh Valley so the team can come back for the 2020 season and beyond.

New Jersey are reaching a deal over proposed legislation that would expand the statute of limitations on civil sexual abuse cases. The bill will now be heard before a Senate Judiciary Committee in March. If passed, the legislation would give sexual abuse victims who are 18 or older seven years to file civil lawsuits as long as they're under the age of 55, expanding the current two-year period. The state statute of limitations for criminal sexual abuse was struck down several years ago.

Phillies ace Aaron Nola is the holder of a new four-year, $45 million contract to stay in Philadelphia, which is exactly where Nola says he wants to be. "I love it here. I love the city of Philadelphia and I want to be part of this organization, a winning organization," Nola says. Pitchers and catchers continue their workouts today in Clearwater.
