It's a thumbs down for a proposed warehouse in Bethlehem Township. In a unanimous vote Monday night, the Board of Commissioners rejected plans for a proposed 866,000-square-foot warehouse at 1600 Freemansburg Avenue. The warehouse would be built on 45 acres which previously had been utilized as a quarry and dump. The total site is 116 acres, spanning Bethlehem Township and the Borough of Freemansburg.

The huge butter sculpture that's been displayed at the Pennsylvania Farm show for the last week-and-a-half will be recycled into renewable energy. One thousand pounds of butter is going to Brett Reinford's farm in Mifflintown to be made into electrical energy from combustion. He uses a methane digester to create energy and cut down on greenhouse gas emissions for his 750 dairy cows. He says the butter from the sculpture will be mixed with other food waste and cow manure - enough to produce power for 500 homes in the Juniata County community.

The Pennsylvania State Police have released their report on illegal drugs seized during 2023 and the numbers are staggering. They say more than $68 million worth of illegal drugs were seized during 2023. More than $26.2 million of that was a variety of marijuana and another $19.5 million was cocaine.

The New Jersey National Guard has deployed about 15-hundred soldiers from the 44th Infantry Brigade Combat Team to the Middle East. It's the largest deployment of New Jersey Army National Guard soldiers in 16 years. They'll support Operation Inherent Resolve, which is the military's operational name for the international war against the Islamic State. Governor Phil Murphy and Senator Cory Booker were on hand to speak when the troops left from Cure Insurance Arena on Sunday.

State Senator Jon Bramnick is expected to toss his hat into the contest for the GOP nomination for governor. Bramnick, who's seen as a moderate and who has opposed former President Trump in the past, is expected to make his announcement on January 27th at the Stress Factory in New Brunswick. Bramnick is a two-term state senator and former Assembly Minority Leader. He would be the first GOP candidate to announce their campaign to succeed term-limited Governor Phil Murphy in 2025.

Am embarrassing collapse ended with an embarrassing loss in Tampa for the Eagles Monday night. After the Eagles lost 32-9 to the Buccaneers in the NFL Wildcard round, head coach Nick Sirianni was asked if he's concerned about his job security. "I'm not thinking about that. I'm thinking about the guys. There are a lot of guys in that locker room, every single one of them, who put their heart and soul into this. I'm not worried about me," Sirianni said. The Eagles started the season 10-1, but lost five of their last six regular season games before being blown out last night.

Philadelphia Eagles star center Jason Kelce is reportedly retiring. ESPN reports Kelce told teammates after a Wild Card Round loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last night that he plans to hang up his cleats. Kelce was drafted by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft and played 13 season with the team. He finishes his career with one Super Bowl title and as a seven time pro bowler.
